I like 741 for indestructable output drivers... well they will not survive
plugging
into the mains... but short of that...

Also the 741 makes a real good slow comparator. It won't even see tiny
glitches...
you have to REALLY get past the threshold to get an output. No 'prone to
oscillate'
like the LM311...
