Hi DIY gods and Goddesses!

I'd like to know where you can buy electronic components at a 
reasonable price in Canada and Germany?
It's for a friend who is not on synthDIY, but the german answer may 
interest me deeply ;) (thanks to the EU/€)

As a piece of knowledge the best prices I've found in France are thru 
Électronique Diffusion http://www.electronique-diffusion.fr/ (catalogue 
is under etc. ;) but some things can be found at Sélectronic only.

If you are really in a hurry, Farnell is the place to go, but they 
don't send catalogues to individuals (they like the corporate finish) 
though they are glad to sell to individuals if they are able to buy 
using the website (uh!). But anyway you pay the price of speed…
