Wonderful to get such fast and informative responses! I checked out the Analog Deivces page, but the SSM2210P don't seem to be available as of right now, at least when I clicked on the 'order' button, the quantities showed 0 in the cart. Then again, the availability date was yesterday (2/18) so maybe next week I'll check back.

Also speaking of THAT corp, how does one go about getting their stuff in reasonable quantities? I was interested in their VCA chips so I emailed their sales dept last week about ordering chips in small quantities ( around 25 pcs) and havent even gotten a response. Maybe they don't cater to the little guy - anyone know of a source for small batches of THAT chips?

  Thanks again to all !

  Dave

They are the *same* die. The only difference is the CA3046 has been sorted at the factory, for matching of the diff pair.

Note it's *only* the one diff pair, the 3 individual transistors are a crap shoot :)

MOTM uses the Analog devices SSM2210P NPN and SSM2220P PNP pairs for VCF designs. The results speak for themselves :)

You can get them at www.analog.com use a credit card and they ship *worldwide*.

You can also use the THAT CORP 300 series of parts (used on the MOTM-485 GX-1 VCF). www.thatcorp.com
