There are also several very cheap multimeters available through
 www.bgmicro.com (as well as some OTHER interesting stuff).  They also have
 some meters that sound pretty good that are *relatively* cheap.  I recently
 ordered a couple of their cheapest ones, but haven't received them, yet.

(Off-topic:)

If anyone was/is ever looking for an economical source for the VTL5C2 Vactrol
 (an "analog optical isolator"), bgmicro.com has them for only $0.60 each,
 qty (1).   The only other places I've ever been able to find them wanted
 something like $20 each.
