Y-ellow Jarek.
What can I say. You've done it again. Actually I'd been toying
with such ideas myself for a long time. Never actually pulled it off though
for one reason or another. If nothing else you've re-kindled my interest
but I'd never be able to develop filter code. I don't understand how to do
that in a DSP let alone be able to shoe horn that into an MCU.
However I'm curious to hear what they sound like. The reason is that whilst
I like the simplicity of your D-A, there's no aliasing filter. I understand
with a simple D-A such as this, where I'd presume the output would clock at
varying rates depending on the output frequency etc, that a tracking filter
would double the complexity but I'm still curious about what you can
ACTUALLY get away with. In terms of quality etc.
I had never contemplated generating wave forms in this way. But mainly
because I've never used an AVR and the stuff I use, to-date is
significantly slower.
Since I'll never probably get round to trying to do this kind of thing for
reasons beyond my control, could I just put in an order for your next
adventure?... What I'm saying is. Don't stop here. You should run with this
one. You have the makings of a salable product. Even if only to the DIY
community.
Bravo once again.
Be absolutely Icebox.
