That's a pretty good idea! Just make sure you put in a plate and bolt it to
both halves of the enclosure. You will want a plate on every wall (one on
the bottom, one on the front, one on the top and one on the rear), so that
the two halves don't flex and crack the bondo you've put on the seam.

Best of luck with that. Let us all know how it turns out! By the way, how
much does the local shop want for the cases? The nice Hammond boxes can be
pretty pricey.
