Get some 1mm alu sheet and DIY.
To cut to size scratch deep with a sharp knife (box cutter) and the bent a
few times up and down to snap it of.
Bent to shape on the edge of the kitchen table.
You might want to sand the metal with 200 paper (60 or 40 if you use a
machine) before cutting and bending.
This helps (spray) paint to hold better to the metal later on.
DO clean with whitegas or similar before painting, fat free is the idea.
For the wooden side panels glue two layers of wood (one wood one MDF?),
roughly the same form but one smaller so the real wood part sticks out 5 to
10mm.
The metal parts get mounted on the smaller (MDF?) inner part.
For extra points glue some M3 nuts in the inner part for mounting the metal.
The use of button head or 'normal' hex screws add to a professional look.
