The fly in the ointment may be the triggering speed. While I don't see specs
for the QMatrix parts, the QTouch devices (presumably based on the same
technology) have a response time of 99ms -- about 1/10 second -- which is
too slow for some uses.

The linear and rotary (iPod?!) sliders are neat, and I like their proximity
feature:
    "A unique prox mode allows the device to detect hand
    movement up to 50mm away from the panel surface;
    this can be made to magically activate a display or
    product from standby, before the user even touches
    the product!"

Perfect for creating an "It's alive!" user experience. ;-)
