[sdiy] Trigger a TR's sequencer with a piezo

This works just fine triggering a SH-101's sequencer, but what I would like
to do is play a step on a TR's sequencer so I can get a real 808 kick from
an electronic drum kit I'm working on. The problem, as I see it is that din
sync is 24ppqn, so you'd need 6 pulses to advance the sequencer one step
while the piezo is only creating one. Would it be easier to set the TR's
sequencer to a length of just 1 step and use the piezo's trigger as the
start signal and then maybe run it through a trigger delay for the stop
signal? Or does that not matter because you'd still need 6 pulses to
advance to the 1st step? Has anyone else done anything like this before?
