[sdiy] circuit bent japanese speak & spell-like thing

I once saw a web site that had a circuit bent toy that was liek a japanese 
speak and spell.
I did a cursory look on eBay for soemthing liek that, but I guess I don't 
know how to describe it enough or there just aren't any on eBay at all. (Zut 
alors)

I think it was just for kirigana (I think that's what it is...)

Anybody know anything about these?

I guess if I don't find one I can still have fun circuit bending the 
countless Speak-N-(X)'s on eBay for my daughter.
