[sdiy] Troubleshooting broken Waldorf Microwave XT

hello,

A bit ago my Waldorf Microwave XT started behaving strangely.  The
display would flicker on and off and sometimes show strange
characters.  It was intermittant.  It behaved in such a way for
perhaps a month until one day it just wouldn't power up at all.  It
has been this way ever since.

I have thought of sending it out to be repaired, but that sounds like
a costly proposition.  Is there any hope for me to troubleshoot and/or
repair this problem DIY style?  Any suggestions etc.??
