Doh...
My seven volt limit on the ramp... it WAS base-emitter reverse
breakdown.
I had the collector at the inverting input, emitter at the output. With
the
BASE at or near ground...seven volts will give you the breakdown.
the transistor was in the socket BACKWARDS !!!
The funny thing is... it worked really well up to seven volts. Reset
properly and all :^P
Want to bet when I try my MOSFET in the proper direction that it works
well
too... Hmmmm.
Now its off to make a watchdog circuit that can establish a known state
when
an input pulse train stops... and it might stop "high" or "low". I
could do it
with a timing circuit but as you synth people know... sometimes the next
pulse
might take a LONG time in coming.
oh yeah I forgot... it has to be really simple. Better if it takes no
components at all.
