What planet have you been VACATIONING on ???   :^P

SVF is used in thousands (well... hundreds... would you believe... tens ???)
of places in synths.

Wasp filter, Oberheim SEM, early ARP Odyssey, Aries 314, Moog
Satellite (iirc also a ladder in that one). ARP 1047 Multimode filter...

EFM VCF1...

Stompboxes... Mutron III envelope follower

"Muffy the hex fuzz"....  :^P

Almost all multimode filters are SVF (not all, most)

Yes... very useful. Its one of my favorites
