  I was implying audio rate modulation. The Prophet V allows
  VCO2 to be made an LFO.  You CAN do audio rate modulation
  as well, but i fail to see how that would get your string sound...
  unless you wanted that 'string sound from hell'  :^P

I don't know about uncommon. On the 'quite common' Prophet 5 you can 
route VCO2 to the PW of VCO1.

But thinking about it, it is not that common on other synths, so Harry 
is probably right.

But its a very useful effect. I use it on most of my BIG string patches. 
So its definitely worth allowing for it.
