BUY the PowerOne dual supply... it can be strapped to be either
+/-12V or +/-15V with no problems.
(I don't recommend making your own power supply, its just not a profitable
use of diy time. The parts will probably cost as much as the finished
product)
Use +/-12 to debug. Then later (after class) you can boost to +/-15 and
change
the few, if any... values that have to be recalculated. Its really not that
hard to
do. In most cases its easier in the long run to make all the modules
compatible
than you add extra regulators
