[sdiy] best replacement pots for OSCar?

Hi all,

I need to bring my OSCar out of retirement; last time I used it the controls
were all jumpy, so that's my first port of call.

Last time I refurbed it (I bought it for £40 in about 1996), I put in a new
backup battery and sorted the connection between the two PCBs (there was a
really horrible ribbon cable, I replaced it with a SIL connector thingy).

Looking at it, each pot is 4.7k, and PCB mounted (haven't looked at pitch &
mod wheels yet, but I would expect them to be the same, since IIRC they simply
supply control voltages to the main control-scanning ADC).

Has anyone got any recommendations for good, long-life, smooth acting pots
that I can use? Anyone else done this recently?!

There are 28 pots on the main control board, so the pitch and mod wheels bring
the total up to 30 :)

Once that's all done, I'll perhaps continue my examination of the code... it'd
be really neat to have some parameters mapped to MIDI CCs ;-)

Thanks!

john..
