Hi
1. Sample RAM is 32MB (max)= 64x 424400 1Mx4 DRAM ZIP's
2. Upgrade in sets of 16x, = 8MB at a time
3. Yes
4. Don't know
5. Don't know
RAM chips like these can still be found cheap.

Hi all,
Trying to do something about my education here... :-)
I have no Emu service doc's whatsoever, so maybe someone can enlighten me.
As far as I've been able to find out so far, a standard EXIIIXP has
8MB and a maximum of 32MB RAM (correct?), but supposedly it's hard to
find the chips to expand to that size.
1. Which IC's are we talking about here and do they have 8MB each?
Anybody cares for a peek inside his EIIIXP or check the service docs?
2. Is it indeed a question of adding 8MB chips, to be plugged into
already available sockets, or are these actually complete memory
boards? According to the Emulatorarchive upgrades were $.495,= per
8MB, which seems "a little bit" over the top for an IC.
3. Is the above the same for the EIIIXS? I see no reason why not.
4. Is it true that Lexicon and Behringer used these same RAM chips?
5. If so, in which machines?
Many thanks!
Senso
