Possibly. The ghosting is reflections from poor termination and/or poor 
connections.

If you can, try a different monitor with the same cable. That should tell 
you whether it's the monitor that's flawed - and they sometimes are, 
especially CRTs running at the edges of their spec - or the cable.

I had a top-line iIyama that used to do this. It had component video on 
BNCs, which was about as good as you can get cable and connector-wise, but 
it still ghosted noticeably.

Analogue DVI seems to be a lot better than the old VGA connector model, so 
if your new monitor can use DVI, buy a cable and use it instead.

My new Lacie TFT doesn't ghost at all over analogue DVI. Digital DVI is 
cleaner still. (But then you'd expect it to be.)
