One possible use is to record CV signals (i.e.:joystick) as MIDI data.
Playback through MIDI to CV and your hands are free to tweak elsewhere.
Another way to do this is to record a VCO whose pitch is controlled by CV
source. Playback VCO track through Frequency to Voltage module ( ? There was
a post about this a couple months back) to reconstitute your CV signal.
Advantage of MIDI is MUCH smaller files.
I just started experimenting with this so the results may fall short of
expectations. On the other hand, something unexpected and/or useful may pop
out. Already, it's been useful for mix automation. It has some problems at
the moment in that CV signals with sharp transistions (pulses)are not
handled well (sometimes misses, sometimes latches up). Envelopes at 0 attack
time are not recorded as instant. A little attack is added when recording.
