Heck,  if you shopped around a little you could get a whole couple of
gallons
of gas!

With my first car, $1 bought three gallons of gas. Five years before
that 35 cents bought a hamburg, fries and soda at McDonalds. They are
still about equivlent. 1 Gallon of gas equals one small McDonalds
meal. It's just the $1 that has shrunk.
