yes, logic was available in cans.
the old stuff is usually RTL or DTL - pre TTL. The oddest can I have
actually contains a relay - yes, in the can the same size as a transistor.

darlington and two independent transistors, all NPN.

I love this old stuff, and frequently use can ICs in my synth, though
usually these are later types, such as LM311 or 741.
