You want a real project???? :-)
You can implement an entire S-100 system (without the S-100), on a board
that only costs $99!!!
Of course, you will have to write a bit of Verilog or VHDL code to get there.

Wonder if there is any free 8080 or Z-80 VHDL implementations...?
Personally, I am leaning more towards doing a 6502....one of these days, I
need to get back to work on that.
Also, you are thinking of the Altair 680....as far as I know, Imsai never
messed with the 6800.
Wish I could find an old Sphere computer....
