That information is probably correct, since replacement for the 
PC900V is the 6N138
It is very likely that you can also use the - more easily available - 
PC900V as a replacement for the 910. This one was used in virtually 
all of the classic standard MIDI interfaces and gear like the Roland 
MPU-IMC, the DX-7, etc.
But check the data sheets first. There might be a difference in 
speed, with the 910 being the fastest, and I don't know if that is 
essential for your application.
