It does not suit me, as a form factor, but I have to agree it is a nice one.
Man I love the choices we have today in modular. And, you may find in
addition to your DIY you like some of John's kits. They are unique, always
fun and a good value.

In this case, you do get what you pay for. I own two of the PAiA MIDI 2
CV8s. They are 8 bit resolution. I'd say plenty good for controlling a
mono synth or perhaps two voice. If you get into polyphonic operation, you
might want something a little better. I have a Kenton pro-2000 which I
really do like. I am waiting patiently for the MOTM MIDI2CV also.
> Oh and one thing: The Blacet Frac-Rack package is something like $60 the
PAIA one says $18.75 without covers... is this a typo? I'm used to rackmount
hardware being absurdly overpriced, but that actually looks reasonable.
John Simonton (Mr. PAiA) is famous for low prices. He can squeeze more out
of a dollar than just about anyone. Sometimes that is good. Sometimes it
leaves you wanting a little more. Hence the more expensive Blacet rack.
You will find it nicer and more substantial (from what I understand).
