[sdiy] Deceptively simple question: Panels

Heya Aaron

I build mine into dotcom format...well because I am building a dotcom
but also as there's lots of space, I put 6 bandpass filters into a
double panal quite nicely etc and I couldn't do that in a doepfer etc
(well I could but not with the nice space between pots etc) I also have
AS stuff but have decided all the DIY will go in the bigger dotcom
format and I can patch the AS stuff to there.
It also depends on what pcb's etc you want to build, I build lots of ken
stones stuff and the longer boards wouldn't fit parallel to the front
panel due to the length etc and I think lots of pcb's would be the same
so that's something else to think about.

Ohhhh yeah and if you are thinking about buying prebuilt modules form
one manufacturer you might want to match the size.

Cya
Brett

I've got a few boards built, power supply about to be ordered, knobs and
jacks picked out. Now I'm looking around for cases. And then the
question of panel size surfaces.

I've seen a lot of different module form factors, things like MOTM, EFM,
Oakely, PAIA, Serge, Dotcom... what's common? What do you fellows
prefer? Are any of these compatible or effectively the same?
