Hey All,

Saw an interesting tidbit on a message forum today:

******************************
Kurzweil is back < via-chicago > 08/24 13:22:47

After almost a year of a freeze on the company, Kurzweil is back in
business. No news on whether they are going to introduce new
instruments, but they are at the very least shipping out replacement
parts for their existing models again.
********************************

This was on Craigslist, and there is no URL for verification, so I
can't vouch for the validity of it. Still, interesting news for the
Kurzweil fans/owners out there. I didn't even know the company was in
trouble. BTW, there's ANOTHER difficult to pronounce synth surname.
Makes "Dave Smith' almost seem out of place. ;)

Also, here's another Kurzweil related tidbit:
*********************************
Ray Kurzweil is lecturing next month < BlastroKnow > 08/24 13:48:48

as part of the Long Now series in San Francisco:

The next Seminar About Long-term Thinking will feature Ray Kurzweil on
"Kurzweil's Law"--- the exponential trend of accelerating returns
governing life and technology. The talk will be at the Herbst
Theater in the San Francisco Civic Center on Friday, September 23,
7pm.
