Congrats -- it's definitely a fun instrument.

There's a simple, PIC-based design for the Polysix that also works 
perfectly well for the MonoPoly;  details at:

I've built & installed about a dozen of these into Polysixes, and one into 
a MonoPoly;  they're inexpensive (under $15 for parts), reliable & 
generally foolproof.
Installing this circuit in the MonoPoly will require a basic understanding 
of the similarities between the keyboard circuits of the two machines -- 
should be apparent from the schematics.
