Hi Paul,

as a guy who also GPLd some DIY projects I do fully agree 
your decition. I've very similar reasons, why I don't go for 
commercial - it only produces additional stress, you won't be
really payed for your work, and you loose the time for things 
of life which make fun (e.g., developing what you like, not 
what your customers like).

Open Source is the big chance to inspire other people, and
to get something back - inspirative discussions about
concepts, soft/hardwarefixes, new features, 
improvements... this can be more satisfying then spending 
most of the time for manufacuring, maintenance and 
customer support.
