While searching for something for work I stumbled across this:

It's a crazy freeware program that takes a .bmp image and uses it to
generate a sound.  The image is read left to right and each row of
pixels controls the amplitude of a sine wave of a given frequency.  Ever
wanted a frequency domain paintbrush?

SDIY content? . . . . well . . .it was someone else's DIY synth program
from a couple of years ago, good enough?
