[sdiy] smt parts and magnification

I decided to do my next board using smt parts, and I must say that
you can't really get a sense of the scale of things until the parts
are in your hands. At least I don't need as much space for storage.

What types of magnifiers do you people use when working with surface
mount parts? Digikey carries the Luxo brand of magnifier lamps, but
they look pretty expensive...
