I sure was. It was equally nice to see Karl-Heinz Stockhausen and
Burt Bacharach receive their prices I might add. All three worthy winners in
their genre.

I also had the pleasure to wine and dine the good Dr. Moog and his wife Ileana
a couple of days later together with a number of nice people from SAS (AHs
sexy little Swedish sister). We had our own price cermony with big brass medal
and diploma "Dr. Bob Moog patching the world together" (the picture of the
diploma seems to have slipped of the web, I'll address a strong kick into the
bottom part of the supposedly responsible party for that misshap! ;O)

We where 18 people at that table, and I hope that it came down as very nice
evening to remember for all 18, including the special guests of the evening.

I will always remember Bob as a very friendly and good hearted guy, with a
great sense of humour and open mind. I also respect him as a fellow engineer
and the legacy he has in his trails. It is so overwellming to find these
properties collected in one single person, but it also makes it easier to
understand why he could pull these stunts off.

I am really sad to see him go like that, and really wished he had another 10
years. He went at the same age as my father, so I can relate to how his family
has it. My thougths go to them.

A little story then... for the "Moog dinner" Bob has asked what they should
wear and I just said that they should take what they feel comfortable in.
Naturally, we felt we wanted to dress up, so I came in black suit, shirt and
tie and also a bakelite knob. As I picked Bob and Ileana up from the hotel, in
taxi over to the resturant (really no distance, but they are the special guests
and they get the treatment that comes with it) Ileana noted the bakelite knob
and asked what it was. After I made a quick explanation she told about this
nice tea-pot they have at home, where the lid-handle had broken off. Bob then
replace it with a nice bakelite knob. ;O)

I might add that two people showed up in a Fez...

In the same resturant but upstairs, the later at night had a synth-club going,
and as I was getting back from having Bob and Ileana shiped back to the hotel
one of the arrangers of this club was saying to another that he think he saw
Bob Moog in the resturant. Then I just concluded "Bob Moog has left the
building!" with a big grin! ;O)

Oh, that was a great time! ;O)

Cheers,
Magnus - highly responsible for the disturbance in normal life that particular evening
