You should consider using the Creative Commons  licence because it  
has provisions to prevent commercial uses, which GPL does not. GPL  
merely forces people who modify your design/source to make the  
modified sources available.

You could use something like this:
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.0/ca/

This a canadian version, but you can create a custom licence for your  
jurisdiction.
