Modular Synth = Individual Modules or Infinate I/O
Normalized Synth = Fatman or any other limited patch synth.
What modular means in everyday use is that you can ( right
or wrong ) plug anything into anything. Serge is modular and
2600 is not. Matrix's are not but they are so very very close.
The thought that I have when I think modular is individual
modules that can be changed or stacked in infinate piles.
Like Paul said.... but I think it's more accurate to look at it
in I/O terms. If you can patch it up any way you like, I think
that's modular too. This logic gets a little shaky when you want
to add just one more VCO. Easy if you've got individual
modules harder if not but I still think it's right.
