[sdiy] Info about BA9201 DACs? Anywhere?

For a few weeks I have been getting my sanity together actually playing
music for a change. Now that things are less stressful, I am trying to
fix, mod, and diy again. Last fall or so I bought an as-is (broken)
Akai S612 sampler from Roy for a few $. First big problem I noticed was
that most of the power headers were loose on broken solder joints. Now
that I have fixed those, the S612 works, sort of. The digital section
is fine, it handles MIDI, reads and saves to that silly mini-floppy
drive. But the only audio output is a loud hum.
This has something to do with the DACs getting extremely hot! They are
probably fried. There is one ROHM BA9221 12-bit DAC, and six BA9201
8-bit DACs. After a long, long time of searching today, I found a
datasheet for the BA9221. Since I have yet to find a service manual for
the S612, next best thing I can do is figure out what I should expect
on the pins of the faulty ICs. These ROHM DACs must not have been very
popular, because data and stock are so scarce. The BA9221 were at least
used in the DX7, so they are not too obscure in synth circles. Does
anybody out there have a datasheet for the BA9201? Or at least a
pinout? Or know what is pin-compatable with these?
Meanwhile I'll pull the PCB again and try to trace the BA9221 +/-
references.
TIA!
CJ
