One thing that will definitely affect this ruling:
"The EPSs (External Power Supplies) covered by the standard are
single-output, self-enclosed units that reside outside of the product
they power, with output voltages ranging from 1.5 V to 24 V."
It looks like these regs are targeted at battery chargers, and other
miscellaneous low volt DC supplies. According to the article, it looks
like power supplies with two (or more) outputs, or output voltages
higher than 24V will be exempt. This means that the +/-15 wall warts
mentioned in earlier posts won't be affected. STILL, I would take this
as a warning sign that the power supply as we know it (a big, linear
dual or triple output device) is probably going to change. Yet ANOTHER
reason to learn how to properly tame the noise from a switcher for use
with synth stuff.
