I put my SSm chips inside a regular IC tube.

BTW Melbourne Aust never gets dry enough for static to be a problem,
but if it did, I wouldn't be putting chips in 'ordinary' bags.

BTW that PVC tubing idea for storing IC tubes..
and that other chicken wire idea.. I just made some deep shelves,
with a 2 inch gap.
So you can have rows of tubes. With labelled ends ticking out.
Works for me.
