I'd look real close at the solder connections at that headphone jack...
It seems that a lot of manufacturers have underestimated the amount of force
that would tend to be normally applied to board-mounted connectors in terms
of the amount of solder they leave unmasked when they make the board. Yamaha
portasound stuff was notorious for this with their DC input connector, which
when it broke the foil would normally not allow the unit to operate off
batteries, either. My repairs to these usually consisted of scraping a lot
of the solder mask off the board and adding a lot of solder, in addition to
bits of wire to bridge the broken foil connections.
That'd be the first thing I'd look at, anyhow.
