I had worried about the current consumption of the 4069, that is why I
hadn't considered it. But giving this some more thought, there is only
one of the three gates at its zero position, the others will be
+-120degrees away, and consume less current, so it should be ok to use
another gate in its linear mode.

The addition of a ganged level control is something which one should
include, it is annoying to have to adjust three pots in "unison".
