Kind of a catch 22 isn't it. The fact that the battery is permanent is what
determines the life-time in the first place. These days it is not unusual to
find motherboards, computers etc with permanent non-rechargable batteries in
them - usually at garage sales, hard rubbish collections etc. You may argue
that a computer life time IS shorter than that of the battery, but that
philosopy shouldn't extend to other products.
Hopefully we won't find too many synths made that way.
