I believe the PolyEvolver has DCOs. But don't let that fool you, it's a
great sounding unit and has a good presence in a mix. I own one and I'm
still getting into it--it's remarkably versatile. I seem to recall one
night I sat playing tuned noise in various guises for an hour and a
half. I've never done that with a synth.
And I'd love to see Tom Oberheim get back into synth building--but after
having his company stolen out from him (and then hollowed out) by Gibson, I
wouldn't blame him for staying out for good. Particularly after his later
attempts didn't get off the ground, even though he would fare better this
time, the market having changed in the past decade.
