Sorta..... :)
The L/A synthesis chip has a 20 bit address buss and a 16 bit output buss.
The reverb and chorus also have a 16 bit output buss, but control is
sometimes via 8 bits.
The conversion is actually 20 bits though. Really all for the reverb.
It's broken into an upper 16 bits and lower 4 bit converter using a
resistor array.
Keep in mind that actual resolution of the samples is kind of hard to
really judge.
Roland is famous for resampling companded data and other goodies.
The TR707 started out as analog, was sampled to 16 bits and I think
it finally ends up as only 6 bits of data in the machine with the
compression and expansion added to expand it.
