The D-50 is digital only (no analog filters other then fixed ones at the
output), and I believe the samples are 8-bit. LA-synthesis uses samples,
digital oscillators, ring-modulation and digital filters all in the
digital domain. The reverb and chorus are also digital, and propably the
reason for the 20-bits of the output DAC.
