Using the right kind of black coating actually enhances the dissipation 
properties. However I probably would just paint the scrapes since they 
aren't all that much surface area obviously.  Anyway I know that's why a 
lot of heat sinks are anodized.  Some types of paint I've heard are 
supposed to actually help too but I don't currently remember getting the 
scoop on which ones.  Thanks for the thought on that though.  -Bob
