You might also want to check out (SIDY member) Barry Klein's "Electronic
Music Circuits" book at
http://members.cox.net/barryklein/em.htm
Agreed, Chamberlin's "Musical Applications of Microprocessors" is an
industry bible, but Barry's book is a MUCH easier read and (IMHO) more
likely to get used on a day to day basis. Also, last I saw, Chamberlin's
book was out of print. Is this still true?
Thomas Henry's 566 and 3080 books were also good starting points, although
Midwest Analog (Mr. Henry's site / business) has gone away, so I have no
idea how you'd find legal copies. The books weren't expensive when they were
available, and are a very pleasant read.
