I'm currently amassing information about each individual synth, but I
put up a few good pieces of basic information at
http://cu.imt.net/~sounddoctorin and follow the global synthesizer link
and you'll on the bottom of that page find first of all individual
synths classified by architecture...and there's a link above where I
discuss what types of architectures have been used and what all that
means in somewhat layperson's terms. :-) Then there's also a history
link that gives a rundown of landmark accomplishments in the history of
synth development. Each individual company page has something about
where the company came from and sometimes some nice outside links like
on the ARP page and so on. Pages that show Moog's and Pearlman's
patents, Smith's innovations etc. Enjoy! -Bob
