The resistors with 'different background colors' are...in all likelihood
capacitors also :-). Some caps have been produced which have a more
glassy looking finish and are shaped and striped in similar form to
resistors.
Some glass looking capacitors are high stability caps that are often
used in oscillator circuits and the like. I have a big bag of 390pf's
in stock I seem to recall. Usually fairly fine wires coming out of the
glass case with a label wound inside. Actually the dielectric material
used is polystyrene in these though. There are glass capacitors that
use glass as the dielectric. These only look glass on the outside.
HEre's a page that shows different types.

However they don't show the ones I know you are talking about there.
And I dont' recall what kind of dielectric material they use in them.
They don't fail too often unless they get smashed :-). In most cases
where they are used you can substituted a ceramic or mica type,
especially in an audio circuit.
Ok...anyway..ahem. To 'clone your moog'...has moog cloning been
discussed by congress yet? Hehe. Do you intend to like...photocopy the
PC boards and edit them and create board copies and all? Or hard wire?
Anyway as you go along if there's a part in the schematic that you don't
understand let us know and I'm sure someone can help ID it and source
it. I can't recall what rogue uses for oscillators. But other than
what's used there sometimes, most of the stuff will be off the shelf I
think. -Bob
