[sdiy] Resistor Noise

A 500 ohm resistor and two 1000 ohm resistors in parallel would generate 
the same amount of noise....in theory.

Now, the type of resistor you are talking about could make a 
difference.  In general, Carbon Comp resistors generate a lot of noise 
above the theoretical amount, and Wire Wound and Bulk Metal resistors are 
very close to what they should be.  Metal films are just a tiny bit more 
noisey...and carbon film are a bit noisier still.
