I designed my own half ladder filter with multiple taps. After trying
all the points I could tap at, I decided:
1) 24 db slope was enough for the full ladder. Adding more stages didn't
provide any interesting further changes to the sound.
B) Front panel space was limited, not everything could be brought out.
It is a dual filter module.
11) Filter one is tapped at 6db, 12db and the output is 24 db. The
second filter is taped at one spot. IIRC the second filter is taped at
the 12 db cap. I took it at 12 because I have lots of 6 db passive
filters.
Z) 18db was not enough different from 12 or 24 to bother with. And
anyway, with the 6 db tap on filter one and the 12 db tap on filter two,
I can make an 18 db filter easily. I can make any combination up to 48
db.
