It's possible!
Either you could use the Yamaha CBX MIDI>serial driver and use a
USB>serial interface to interface the micro controller.
or you could use a USB>MIDI design to transfer MIDI-data to a MIDI>CV
converter(of which there are plenty diy designs and kits). I think
Elektor will have a USB>MIDI design in the next issue. Works w. your
computers standard USB>MIDI-driver.
or you could replace the micro controller w. one that has USB. Works w.
your computers standard USB>MIDI-driver.
or you could roll your own drivers and use USB to transfer controll data
from say a VST-plug that fits in you favourite software sequencer or
from dedicated software to a micro controller, skipping all MIDI.

Micro controllers w. USB interfaces are not hard to get, microchip (PIC)
has them, Atmel as well.
