Hi Doug,

If I use push-pins, they will have the same problem as the S letters, only
probably worse. It's hard to imagine a push-pin that is smaller than the
letter "S", and still recognizable as a push-pin. Also, push-pins are
solid, and the "S" has some empty spaces. This lets you see two or three
"S" characters stacked on top of each other better than a solid character,
such as a push-pin, would. 

The "S" is a temporary marker, until I come up with something better.
Incidentally, with the software I'm using, the marker has to be part of a
TTF font. I picked "S", to represent "Synth-DIY". I might switch to using a
simple dot.
